Where Wan 2.2 T2V-A14B shines.

Open-source-first teams

Teams that need open weights for compliance, audit, or strategic reasons. Wan 2.2 is the strongest open T2V available.

EXAMPLETwo anthropomorphic boxing cats sparring in a Las Vegas ring, dramatic spotlights.

Cost-sensitive video

Cheapest open path to AI video at acceptable quality. Useful for prototyping before stepping up to closed-tier models.

EXAMPLEAerial drone B-roll: cars driving along a coastal highway at sunset.

Research / comparison

Reproducible video generation for academic and competitive benchmarking. Standard reference in the open-weights ecosystem.

EXAMPLEReference clip for video benchmark: a cat walking across a wooden floor.

Prototype workflows

Cheap iteration when you're testing creative direction, before committing to closed-tier models for the final cut.

EXAMPLEPrototype clip for a new ad idea: hands assembling a pastry, sunlit countertop.

Fine-tuning base

Use Wan 2.2 as the base for in-house video fine-tunes. Apache-licensed weights make commercial fine-tuning straightforward.

EXAMPLEBrand-style product motion in the company's signature aesthetic.

On-prem-curious enterprise

Prototype on Infer, move to your own GPUs when scale justifies it. No data leaves your infrastructure on-prem.

Things teams ask.

Q.01What does 'open-weights' mean for video?
Same as for images: download the weights, run on your own GPUs, fine-tune for your aesthetic, ship in your product. Infer offers it as a hosted endpoint for teams that don't want to own H100s.
Q.02What's the license?
Apache 2.0-compatible. Commercial use is fully permitted. The exact terms are on the Wan-AI Hugging Face model card.
Q.03Why only 720p?
T2V-A14B is the 14B-parameter variant tuned for 720p. There's a larger A37B variant for 1080p+ on the roadmap; this tier is the production-stable one.
Q.04Quality vs closed models?
About 85% of Hailuo 02 Pro on average; closer to 95% on stylized aesthetic. Run side-by-side tests for your exact category before scaling.
Q.05Can I use the outputs commercially?
Yes. Apache 2.0 license. The weights are also commercially-usable if you self-host.
Q.06What are the rate limits?
Default tier is 60 requests per minute. Video gen is queued and async.
Q.07How is this different from running it myself?
Infer handles GPU provisioning, queueing, retries, and updates as new Wan checkpoints land — you get the open weights' flexibility without owning infrastructure.
